THE PLOT:

Light is a normal kid who thinks of Justice and the law, but when he hacks into the Police computer and learns that the Law doesn't always dispenses the justice and the guilty escape punishment by slipping through the fingers of the system, this angers Light.

When he finds a magical book called the Death Note connected to a demon, he writes people's names in the book and with a face to match the name, the person dies. He is dubbed Kira and goes after justice with his book. Now the law is after him and he must keep his secret at all cost.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Okay, what I love about this live action adaptation is it's exactly like the anime, in every way. Which is cool and a problem, it has the same problem I have with the anime, they spend way too much time with whole catch Kiba thing. In Japan and the old belief that a soul of a murdered victim cannot rest until the murderer is dead, you think they would embrace Kiba instead of arresting him. And this Light kid is a cold hearted maniac at times, his ends justifies the means scares me sometimes. 8 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I am very impressed with this live action adaptation, why can't more of our live action adaptations be like this? Instead of, I don't know CHANGING EVERYTHING! The only thing left is the name! We should take a lesson from movies like this, staying fateful to the original isn't a bad thing and I agree with Light, 9 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ CREATURE EFFECTS (Which was perfect to the anime)
+ AMERICAN CAST (Which is the same from the dubbed version of the anime.)
+ STORY (The story works for the most part.)
+ ADAPTATION (It's a perfect adaptation from the small screen to the live action.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- POLICE (The Police always in pursuit of Kira gets old somewhat quickly.)
- RUTHLESS (Light is a cold blooded bas****)

- FAN BASED (If you aren't a fan of the Death Note anime, then you won't like this.)
